Anthony’s Blog on Drugs

This world that we live in is a fragile one. Our world can come to a stop in an instance. From January 1, 2019 to November 30, 2019, New Jersey has lost approximately 2700 people to drugs. Drugs are taking over our communities and we need to put an end to it. We are losing people from our communities daily from all ages. Drugs have always been a problem, but these past few years, it has become a social problem. We, as a community was come together and work together in order to get these troubled individuals help. There are other ways around your personal problems than taking a drug. A few years ago, there was a kid from our community who didn’t have a job, but always was high. One day, while high, he robbed the local deli at gunpoint. This is what drugs will do to you. They will make you rob the people you are close with and take advantage of them. The kid lived a few doors down from the deli, so they obviously knew who he was, but if he had asked his family or friends for help, I am sure that they would have put him on the right track to get off of the drugs. Drugs don’t only affect the person taking them; it also affects the users family. If the family doesn’t know the person is using, it will hurt them once something terrible happens. As a community, I think that we can come together and help everyone get on the right track. We can offer classes, we can offer meetings, we can offer whatever it is that will help get these peoples minds straight and stop doing drugs.
